Hi all,
We’re looking for 8-10 proofreaders for proofreading and editing of student essays for long-term cooperation. These include reports, essays and dissertations at undergraduate and graduate level across a range of disciplines.
What we expect you to do:
You will be responsible for correcting all basic language mistakes including grammar, spelling and punctuation issues using Track Changes and comments in Microsoft Word. Moreover, you will go above and beyond by providing style edits to boost the texts to the highest possible quality. For texts that require heavy editing, this can include pointing out missing references or logical fallacies in the arguments presented and rewriting confusing sentences.
What’s in it for you:
• Pay rate of 15 – 20 USD per 1000 words, depending on the level of service clients request.
• Payments are processed the same day you submit finished work.
• We are willing to work for the long term and will bring you jobs regularly throughout the year.
• Work time is flexible, we are respectful of your schedule and days off as long as deadlines are met.
• Possibility of an increase if you do exceptionally good after working with us for a year.
• For proofreaders with limited experience, we provide guidance and one-to-one feedback to help you quickly get familiar with our work standards and style.
You should meet the following requirements:
• English native speaker
• PhD (obtained or expected) or MSc in any field (right now, we particularly need people who majored in social sciences, education, and business, but we’re open to all majors as long as you do a good job!)
• Reliable and responsive to communication
• Familiar with the academic writing style
• Editing and proofreading experience is a plus
1. Send us a short introduction with your academic info (degree, field and university) and any relevant experience.
2. We’ll provide a short test to check if your skills match our expectations and editing style.
3. You’ll hear back from us within 72hrs of receiving your work. If we’re happy with your results, we will send you jobs regularly throughout the year.There will be a lot of work in the upcoming months as students start writing their end-of-year essays and dissertations, so right now is a good time to apply!
