You will select one contemporary (since end of WWII) conflict which you use to analyze actors, causes and the dynamics of escalation. The conflict you select should be one that has political dimensions (i.e. not personal conflicts) and where and armed conflict, i.e. organized violence, has been, is, or risks becoming part of the conflict. You can, if you wish, choose to study only a limited time period of a conflict.
